The Eastern Star Foundation of Iowa operates as a philanthropic foundation, established in 2022, to receive funds through donations, gifts, bequests, and voluntary contributions to provide financial support to Special Projects chosen annually by Iowa’s Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron, as well as other charitable organizations’ worthwhile causes which qualify by having a 501(c)(3) status.

Following a review of the actions taken by many other Eastern Star Grand Jurisdictions, it was determined the establishment of an Eastern Star Foundation, apart from our Grand Chapter, would work to supplement future financial support. Modeled from those other Grand Jurisdictions, the Eastern Star Foundation of Iowa also works to provide donors with various options for donating funds to the Foundation so the financial support of these charitable projects is maintained.

The Eastern Star Foundation of Iowa is a separate entity and is not related in any way to the Grand Chapter of Iowa, Order of the Eastern Star. The Foundation has its own Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Board of Directors, and financial accounts.
